36 YEARS OF HISTORY

IT ALL BEGAN IN 1974.....

The history of Central California's largest and wildest water theme park begins in "the seventies", when the park first opened to the public as the more mellow Serena Vista Lakes.  A picnic and camping site known for its 3 fishing lakes and general store, this was a welcome respite for vacationers traveling to and from the mountains.  In a natural plush setting of 52 acres of shade trees, foliage and flowers, this relaxing atmosphere is second to none!  The wildlife of Canadian Geese landing in our lakes, Egrets and even an occasional Red-tailed Fox can be seen on the banks of our lakes, even today!

In 1977, under the new name, Clovis Lakes, the park began to grow, adding the Olympic pool in 1975 and a weekly dance and fashion show to its attractions in 1978. At the height of disco, the "Star Gardens" events began to draw greater attention to the park.
1980 was More, Bigger and Better … this was our decade of expansion and a more appropriate name ….. WILD WATER ADVENTURE PARK!  The park became increasingly more popular.  The first two water slide flumes were constructed and installed.  Under the supervision of a staff of just 6 employees, lots of slippery fun was had for the admission price of a mere dollar per person.
From 1980 to 2000 new rides were added almost every year, with our newest ride, the GhostSlider, premiering in 2008.

The Star Spangled Revue – A valley tradition since 1990, our Fourth of July/Independence Day show is absolutely spectacular, featuring a laser light show, awesome pyrotechnics, patriotic music, and local entertainment.  This show has grown over the years to be the Valley’s number one event on Fourth of July.  A must see!

Wild Water Adventure Park appeals to the thrill seekers with all of our 20 attractions and 38 slides.  But most of all we appeal to families where you can bring your own food and BBQ at one of many large BBQ areas.  This keeps the whole family together and we are now into our 3rd generation of children and families enjoying this great community asset.
We have been hosting local and out-of-town group events since our inception.  It is a highly desirable venue for group picnics, many numbering in the thousands, because of the park’s beautiful surroundings.  For added fun, we offer sand volleyball courts, many horseshoe pits and a ball diamond for softball or soccer.

Truly a History of Cool!
